Early Childhood Education (ECE) at Interamericano includes grades prekindergarten, kindergarten, and grade 1 (ages 4-6 approximately).
Our primary goal in the Early Childhood level is to foster creativity and exploration while nurturing the child’s built in sense of wonder for the world around them and promoting a love of learning. This is all done while providing the basic building blocks for reading, writing, and mathematics in a bilingual (English-Spanish) environment while using engaging hands on activities and play.
In the Early Childhood Level we believe that at this early stage in life the social, emotional and physical development of a child is just as important at their academic development. This means that we spend time nurturing healthy relationships between students, parents and teachers. We also believe that learning begins at home and is continued at school through the collaborative effort of both the parents and teachers. We strive to meet each child’s individual needs through the use of differentiated instructions and support those who require academic assistance through specialists.
The Early Childhood Level has a half day prekindergarten program that runs from 8:00 – 12:50 PM and full day kindergarten and first grade that run from 8:00-2:20 PM. We provide an English immersion program during the first year of study in our prekindergarten program to provide students with a solid English foundation and then use a bilingual international curriculum along with specialist classes including art, PE, music, and technology.
