History and Profile

Colegio Interamericano was founded by Fundación Educativa Guatemala in 1976, as a non-profit, nonsectarian day school, who sought to provide an alternative for Guatemalan families seeking a high quality bilingual (English-Spanish) education.
The school has been located in La Montaña zone 16 in Guatemala City since 1981. Colegio Interamericano secured its U.S. accreditation (Cognia) in 1989 to guide its bilingual program and provide graduates with a U.S. High School Diploma and the Guatemalan Bachillerato Diploma.
Colegio Interamericano currently serves over 1,500 students, and in more recent years, has become a viable choice for an increasing number of international students and mobile families.
